A 250 m RoRo and LoLo jetty with an 8 m draft. It handled a 3,000 t single piece of steel.

Scope

RCF designed and built the Dangote RoRo jetty, with a secant pile wall as a retaining wall, dead anchored piles and bearing piles, the fender and bollard system, and one mooring dolphin.

The jetty is 250 m long with an 8 m draft. The secant pile wall uses 1.5 m and 1.2 m diameter concrete secant piles, built by the bored piling method as a retaining wall system.

Heavy Project Cargo

The jetty has both roll-on/roll-off and lift-on/lift-off capability, with quaysides and ramps built for heavy project cargo. It handled a 3,000 t single piece of steel, including its stool weight.

In Numbers

22,000 m³ of concrete, 2,500 t of reinforcement and 2 rigs, completed in 9 months.
